> About the Ministry
CRSIRP was founded by a group of six Catholic
religious congregations on June 1, 1997. The founding members
were: the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) of St. Peter’s
Province and the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) of Quebec
and Montreal; the Loretto Ladies (IBVM) of Toronto; The
Congregation of Christian Brothers (CFC) of St. Joseph’s
Province; The Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ) of Toronto;
the Filles de Jésus (FJ) of Moncton, N.B.
Various congregations joined in the collective
financial support of the initial efforts through donations
of just over $100,000. The funds were used in 1996 for initial
research and a feasibility study in which 51 congregations
participated. At start-up, fifty-nine congregations came
together. The Trust now (2003) comprises some 131 members
who collectively work together with program assets of almost
$2 billion.
The Trustees are elected for three years and
may serve a maximum of two three year terms. The Trustee has
an executive committee comprised of the chair, vice-chair
and one trustee-at- large. The current trustees with their
office indicated are:
